Background

Professional Background and Education

Morgan holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Toronto and a Master of Research in Biomedical Research from Imperial College London. He then became his PhD supervisor's first graduate student in Chemical Biology at McMaster University, which meant writing the grants that got the lab off the ground before there was a lab to speak of. That work became a research career, and it later shaped how he writes funding applications.

Building and Selling Greenlid

After his PhD, Morgan co-founded Greenlid in 2014 with his brother Jackson Wyatt. The sustainable products company started with a compostable compost bin and went on to make compostable tableware and BioTrap, a biodegradable mosquito trap. He grew it from a single product to 100+ SKUs in 10,000+ stores, made five appearances on CBC's Dragons' Den and closed a deal with Dave Chilton and Arlene Dickinson. Along the way he raised more than $5MM in government funding to reshore manufacturing from China, expand R&D and develop new products. Greenlid had an eight-figure exit in 2021.

Founding Fundspoke

Morgan started Fundspoke because the CEOs he was advising kept finding the right programs and then never doing the paperwork. He has since put 10,000+ hours into hands-on AI development, building Fundspoke's own technology, and has served as an individual member of Anthropic's Product Advisory Group for Financial Services since December 2024. He leads the senior team of PhDs, CPAs and former founders who manage funding projects for established Canadian companies, from the first call through the final claim.

Other Ventures

Alongside Fundspoke, Morgan co-founded ReSolaros with Dave Chilton, a venture developing a process to recover higher-purity silicon glass from end-of-life solar panels. The work is currently inactive as Morgan's focus has shifted to Fundspoke.

Recognition

Awards and Recognition

Morgan won the Arthur J.E. Child Award, part of the 2018 Ernest C. Manning Innovation Awards, for Greenlid's compostable compost bin, and a University of Toronto Arbor Award the same year. He was named The Next Founders Valedictorian at The Next 36's 2015 Venture Day. In August 2026, he received NEXT Canada's Geoffrey Taber Alumni Achievement Award, presented by Osler at the Venture Day Dinner in Toronto.
