Morgan was his PhD supervisor's first graduate student. That meant writing every grant to get the lab off the ground, building something from zero and funding it. That's where the skill set started. Between his PhD research and the company that followed, Morgan is inventor on 65+ patents globally. He built Greenlid, a sustainable products company focused on compostable tableware, takeaway packaging, and biodegradable insect traps. Took it on Dragons' Den. Secured over $5 million in government funding to reshore manufacturing from China, expand R&D, and develop new products. Eight-figure exit in 2021.
After the exit, Morgan started reconnecting with companies in his network. The conversations were always the same: advice on growth, help raising capital, introductions to the right people. He was happy to do all of that for free. Charging hourly or working as a consultant never sat right. He'd get on a call, share the opportunities he saw, point companies toward funding programs that fit. But nobody would actually do the paperwork. The applications just sat there.
So Morgan started doing it himself. Not advising. Actually sitting down with companies that were building something real and helping them as a team member: structuring the projects, writing the applications, getting the funding through grants, and at times matching them with private capital or lending facilities. Practical help. Because advice is cheap, and he could never charge what the work was actually worth on an hourly basis. The model became entirely outcome-based, and it took hold fast. Referral after referral. No sales team. No advertising. Just results.
When Morgan transitioned as CEO of Greenlid in January 2023, he turned his full attention to Fundspoke — and quickly realized the need wasn't for another tool. It was for experts at the interface: people who understand the technology deeply enough to build it, and the funding landscape well enough to run it. From the earliest days of the AI revolution, Fundspoke has been building custom systems purpose-built for funding — not off-the-shelf tools, but proprietary technology developed over 10,000+ hours by a team of engineers, PhDs, and domain experts.
